Terms of Service
Last updated: October 9, 2026
These terms govern the use of Hookwell's website and its internal publishing application ("the Service"). Hookwell is based in New Brunswick, Canada. By using the Service or authorizing it to access an account, you agree to these terms.
What the Service does
Hookwell creates short video clips from long-form content and publishes them to social media accounts that Hookwell owns or manages, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X. It also reads performance analytics for those accounts. The Service is operated by Hookwell for its own accounts and for creators and brands who have authorized it.
Permission and content rights
- Hookwell only clips content from creators and brands who have given permission, either directly or through a clipping campaign they run.
- Account owners who authorize the Service confirm they have the right to publish the content posted to their accounts.
- Rights holders who believe content was posted without permission can contact hello@hookwell.ca, and we will review and remove it promptly where appropriate.
Platform terms
Use of the Service is also subject to the terms of each platform it connects to, including the YouTube Terms of Service, TikTok Terms of Service, Meta Terms, Instagram Terms of Use and X Terms of Service. Hookwell does not use the Service to buy views, inflate engagement or post spam.
Authorization and revocation
Account owners can revoke the Service's access at any time from each platform's settings. Revoking access stops all publishing and analytics access for that account. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to publish unlawful, infringing, hateful, deceptive or harmful content, or to violate any platform's community guidelines.
No warranty
The Service is provided "as is." Hookwell does not guarantee any number of views, followers or earnings, and is not responsible for decisions made by third-party platforms, including removals, demonetization or account actions.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Hookwell is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service.
Changes
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
